This reach of river, the Nizina Canyon, is a segment on a longer river trip.
You have a couple options for what you run before you reach the start of this section. Most people drive to McCarthy and put-in on the Kennicott River and run about 5 miles down to the confluence with the Nizina. Alternatively, you can charter a plane to take you up to the Nizina Glacier and do the 35 miles on the Upper Nizina to the start of the run described here.
Once you reach the confluence with the Chitina, you'll be continuing on downstream on that river to the town or Chitina located at the confluence of the Copper. From there you can either take-out or keep on going down the Copper.
