River Description

Spring Creek starts near Kansas, OK and flows southwest into Neosho River / Ft Gibson Lake. It has beautiful clear water, even after heavy rains.

When the creek is high, there's fun surfing just below the low water bridge near Peggs.

The section above Peggs is approx. 6 miles of Class I-II paddling with nice scenery and a few good eddy lines for playboating. Put-in is at Teresita bridge.

In the summer, Spring Creek is a nice place for roll practice.

How To Get There:

The low water bridge at Peggs is just 55 miles from downtown Tulsa. Take 412 E to Hwy 82 (the first exit to Tahlequah). Go 7 miles south to 635 Road and turn left. Take another left at the next "T", and follow that road approx. 1.5 miles down to the creek.

There are campgrounds on both sides of the creek where you can arrange for day use and parking.
