River Description

Despite its promising name, the Whitewater River holds very little true whitewater. This reach is quite popular for canoeing, and boaters will find good swift current, minor rapids, and (perhaps, at the right water levels) a few potentially surfable waves.

Put-in: Metamora, near roadside park on U. S. 52 just west of Metamora.
Take-out: northeast corner of Jameson Road bridge (south of Harrison, Ohio on the Indiana-Ohio state line).
Shuttle: From Brookville, proceed south on old U.S.52. Cross Interstate 74 near the state line. Old U.S.52 curves around the river and goes through Harrison, Ohio. When U.S.52 turns left (east), instead continue straight ahead four blocks to the river.
