River DescriptionPut in at the bridge in Blanchard. There are about 200 yards of rapids below the bridge followed by 2 miles of flatwater until you reach the bridge before Barrows Falls (rated class 3).Scout or portage on river left before the bridge. After Barrows falls, is about 6 miles of nearly continous, technical, class 2 rapids. Just before the 8 mile mark, you will see an old concrete bridge. About 50 yards before the concrete bridge is a river wide dam with about a 4 foot drop at 400 CFS, After the drop, the river turns right to pass under the bridge between two of the bridge abuttments on extreme river right. Use caution here because you will not be able to see the large rock situated under the bridge, until you turn to go through the channel. I suggest running this to the right of the rock, because the river will have the tendancy to throw you into the rock if you try to run to the left. One more drop on river left, then mostly flat water for a mile until you get to the green steel bridge. Take out just past the bridge on river left. This spot is private land, which is used by the locals as a swimming hole, so do not block the drive so others cannot use the takeout or swimming hole. There is alternate parking on the road, or on river right just before the bridge. StreamTeam Status: unverified

Watch the gage closley after a good shower or after a day of rain. There will usually be a couple days when the river is at the correct level. Though the river may be fine at levels above 400 CFS, I have no knowledge of the run at higher levels. Please add a comment if you have done the run at higher levels.
