River Description
A great beginner first river or teaching river.
90% of this is flat water, great for a beginner to work on boat control in.
The other 10% is a class II drop pool, w/ the majority near the take-out.

Beautiful Adk scenery, a few looks at a cabin or two. You have the feel of being far from any road during this paddle. Very enjoyable in that respect.

Gauge

Gauge Description:

You can always go to the steel bridge on Woodhull Rd (Take Out of the Miracle Mile) and count the lines in the concrete bridge abutment;
3 or less lines showing we're talking about huge levels ;)
6 or more it is too low :(

Woodhull Creek feeds the Black and comes up quicker than the Black after rain. The Creek drains a couple of small/medium sized lakes, so it holds water relatively well.
