South Brush Creek

River Description

South Brush Creek is usually a small unobtrusive creek flowing out of the Snowy Range across Hwy 130 and down into the North Platte. However, during peak runoff this little mountain stream is a continuous downhill rapid with small drops, few eddies, and yes BRUSH. South Brush creek can live up to its name so be careful if you run this little creek. The lower section near the campground might be cleaner than some of the upper areas. The campground is also the only area you can access with a car. You are required to have a high clearance vehicle to drive up FS 200 toward the steeper upper creek.
All things considered South Brush is a short fairly constant creek with some wood issues. I have not run the upper upper sections far up FS 200 but they can be accessed off Hwy 130 by hiking.
