6) Grand-Remous – Pont-Rouge
Class III+(IV)
3.2 Miles
River Description
The Pont-Ronge section of the Jacques-Cartier is a short but enjoyable class III river with a couple more difficult rapids that can be easily portaged.
The St. Catherine to Pont-Ronge bike path runs along river-left for the entire run. A favorite lunch spot for both boaters and bicyclists is 2/3's of the way down by the La Chaudiere rapid. Beware of the dangerous hole here.
