Access is difficult to this spot, From the dam below Brattle Street there is no access due to a disgruntled land owner who will stop anyone from the only access across his land. You can paddle across Leigh’s Mill Pond and scramble and rock climb through overgrown poison Ivy into the gorge from below but carrying a boat is near impossible. The couple hundred yards of rapids below the dam are unrunable in my opinion. There is lots of rebar and mill debris in the current as well as large concrete and granite blocks forming dangerous sieves. This is, however, one of the best and least known trout fishing spots in York County!
