River Description

Put-in: There is no bridge across the river on East Branch Road. The final 100 meters of East Branch Road (to the river) are 'abandoned' and are now private property. Please request permission at the last house on right to park and carry down to river.
Take-out: Hwy.45 "Military Bridge"

This makes a good play run at higher water. There are no 'major' drops which would require scouting by competent whitewater boaters.

Gauge

Gauge Description:

Cited gauge is on the Middle Branch downstream of the confluence with the East Branch. The Middle Branch is largely dewatered by the Bond Falls 'diversion', so the greater part of the gauge-flow is actually from the East Branch. (Note: The Baltimore River also dumps into the Middle Branch above the confluence with the East Branch, and is a free-flowing (undammed) stream, so part of the Middle Branch flow at the confluence and the gauge represents it's flow.)

Disclaimer: Be aware that indication of a 'runnable' level by the gauge does not necessarily mean that the river is runnable. In winter and early spring, gauge readings may be 'ice affected'. While swift areas and rapids may be open, slower sections of the river may be impassable due to ice. Use discretion for winter and early spring runs.
