River Description

The Big Hole is a great beginners run, its actually one of the rivers that i started to learn on. The run is mostly small rapids, with the occational pourover/cartwheel spot. The run is very straight forward, and can be scouted from inside your boat. During the summer beware of fishermen and drift boats (theres alot of them, especially when the salmon fly hatch is kickin). Of course alway be weary of logs, and there is a MANDITORY portage at the diversion dam. I heard that a couple of years ago a couple of drift boats went over this and where kept there for a couple of days. Other than the dam there are no known hazards.
