There is now a realtime gauge for this
river. The information below represents the old way of
checing levels:
Check it out when Bacon Creek is above
600cfs or so and Newhalem Creek is
over 200 cfs . Historically there was a USGS
gauge on the Cascade (stn. 12182500,
1908-1978, 172 sq. mi.). The paddler's visual
gauge for the Cascade is at the Cascade-
Rockport Bridge. The gauge is located
immediately downstream of the bridge at the fish
intake screens (photo). It is a non-
traditional gauging system. However, this is what
paddlers have been using for years.
You can try contacting the Marblemount Hatchery (360-873-4241) for the water level as they clean the screens daily.
