Boaters sometimes refer to flows on the Animas by the downstream gauge at Durango. A better reading upstream at the put-in for the Upper can be checked on the Animas below Silverton gauge. There also used to be a ft guage at Tacoma but it got destroyed by the high water of 2005. You'll just have to eyeball it when you get to Tacoma.
