There is a USGS gauge on Baird Creek, just above the recommended put-in. The gauge is quite new, and we do not yet have sufficient experience to be certain of 'good' levels, so the min/max listed is completely tentative. Anyone who has experience with this creek is encouraged to submit comments regarding recommended water levels via the "Add a comment" button which should appear under the "Comments" tab.
Being such a small, upland watershed, this creek will flash up and down quite rapidly, often defying the lag in time for the gauges to be updated online. As a result, the better 'gauge' is to watch weather reports and rainfall patterns, and be ready to jump when there is water.
The currently set 'minimum' of 75 cfs is met or exceeded not even 5% of the time. That is to say, expect this to be boatable an average of no more than about 15 days a year.
