Biography: You’ve probably met her at a put-in or take-out and she might even have cooked you a meal or run your shuttle. Christie has been a field marketer in kayaking for 9 years – she’s logged countless hours of river and road time. She was the U.S. Team Manager and organized the field marketing programs for Perception Kayaks, Lotus Designs and Patagonia. Her dedication to the support of and voice for AW makes her a star. She’s helped with AW’s marketing and promotions and raised thousands of dollars by fundraising at events across the country. She’s also the graphic artist and photo editor for the AW Journal – working from the riverbank, coffee shop and her home office. You could also say she’s got some core support – she is employed by Werner Paddles as the Marketing Manager. When her kayak, paddle and peripatetic nature overcome her and she elopes with a one-way ticket, maybe you can take her job. Until then she’ll be on the rivers she loves trying to help any way she can, personally or professionally.
