Accident Description

An older man apparentlly fell out of his raft in Patton's Run and was not picked up for some distance. It was a one-boat trip. Nearby paddlers and guides attempted to help him and eventually got him ashore and attempted CPR. There's no newspaper coverage so we don't have a name.

A local outfitter who assisted with CPR: the victim was an older man with a stoma (permanent trachiotomy) in his neck..  A PFD will hold your mouth out of the water, but a stoma is much lower than that and he presumably choked and drowned during the swim.
