Subject: River runner drowns

The following should be going to Jo via NPS press release: 49 y.o. Todd Strickland, a Police office from Tucson Arizona, drowned Sunday evening May 30, 1999. Todd was on a Wilderness River Expeditions trip, camped on river right below 75 mile rapid. Todd went off to fish. An AZRA motor trip camped just below heard cries for help, motored out and retrieved the unconscious Strickland. CPR was initiated, and a sat-phone call for help was place. NPS helicopter flew him out late in the day, where he was pronounced DOA at the NPS heli-hanger. We should get a press release and NEWSWIRE same.
