Reports from local FD and PD, the woman was wearing an ankle strapped leash on her SUP board. She was separated from her group so it is unclear if she swam in to the strainer or was knocked off her board when in contact with the strainer. Her leash was caught and prevented her from swimming free from the strainer. She was not wearing a PFD. 911 was contacted and when arrived, CPR was performed but unsuccessfully.
