Corps updates F.E. Walter Dam water release schedule

PHILADELPHIA (Aug. 13, 2010) - The U.S. Army Corps Engineers Philadelphia
District has updated the Francis E. Walter Dam water release schedule for the
remainder of the 2010 recreation season. The Corps plans to hold
whitewater releases on Aug. 28 and 29 and will continue to complete
fisheries releases through Sept. 10.

The current level of water storage will not allow the Corps to complete
whitewater releases after Aug. 29; however if additional storage is
accumulated, the Corps will add releases. Remaining whitewater releases will
be in the range of 600-750 cubic-feet per second of water while the fisheries
releases are 50 cubic-feet per second of water.

This recreation season, the Francis E. Walter Dam has already completed 15
whitewater releases. For more updates on the plan, visit the Corps web site
