Recreational Survey for Susitna River (AK)

American Whitewater is a stakeholder engaged in the proposed Susitna-Watana Hydroelectric Project that would dam the Susitna River upstream of Devil's Canyon. The project would impact instream flows through Devil's Canyon and inundate a significant stretch of river upstream of the canyon.

Currently the State of Alaska, the proponent of the hydropower project, is undertaking the a series of studies to examine the feasibility of constructing the project and the associated impacts. In an effort to better understand the recreational impacts of the project, the State of Alaska has contracted with URS / Environmental Resources Management (ERM) to conduct a survey of individuals recreating on the Susitna River. We encourage any who have experienced this stretch of river to take the survey.

To take the survey, go to: www.susitnariversurvey.com

Respondents completing a survey will be entered into a drawing for a $250 gift certificate redeemable at Amazon.com or Cabela’s. Your responses to the survey will be kept completely confidential. Please take the time to complete the Susitna River Recreation Survey, and encourage other river recreators to do so as well!

Thank you for helping with this important survey!
