SAVE THE DATE! Join AW for a river cleanup on the St. Vrain, June 4 - Lyons, CO
Come one, come all! American Whitewater has teamed up with the CAN'd Aid Foundation and Avid4 Adventure to host a
river float and cleanup along the St. Vrain during the 2017
Burning Can Fest at Lyons Outdoor Games. Register online to volunteer @ http://bit.ly/2oQNcBv.
Join us at Bohn Park in Lyons, Colorado at 9:30am for Hotbox Roasters coffee, donuts, and registration. From there, we will break into groups to pick up trash along the section of the St. Vrain that runs through the Town of Lyons. Prizes will be offered to volunteers that collect the most trash and find the most unique items along the river. We will provide trash bags, plastic gloves, and a guaranteed good time. We just need you and your good energy to get the river clean and flowing free of trash.
BOATERS WELCOME. To give the river the love that it needs we want to get people picking up trash from both along the bike trail and on the river. If you'd like to boat, we ask that you bring your own boating gear (rafts and duckies work best for picking up trash) and proper safety equipment. Avid4 Adventure has provided a van to assist with shuttling folks back to the Apple Valley launch site after the cleanup. Please sign the Avid4 Adventure waiver located on the volunteer registration page prior to the cleanup day.
After the cleanup, we'll head to Oskar Blues Grill & Brew for some brews and apps on the patio. Each volunteer will receive one FREE Oskar Blues Brewery core beer.
You will also find American Whitewater by the slalom races on Saturday during Lyons Outdoor Games. Swing by and renew your membership - or just come say hey!
