PacifiCorp operates six diversion dams and seven powerhouses on the Klamath River and one tributary. These project operations dewater significant whitewater reaches and fluctuate flow in other reaches. The dams also are a barrier for migrating salmon. American Whitewater will be working with local constituents to gain an annual schedule of whitewater releases in the dewatered reaches and flows for riverine restoration.

Written comments will be by PacifiCorp by March 27, 2001. Comments should be mailed to: Todd Olson, PacifiCorp, 825 N. E. Multnomah, Suite 1500, Portland, OR 97232.

American Whitewater will be filing formal comments by March 27th. We encourage local paddling groups to coordinate with American Whitewater. Please contact John Gangemi, American Whitewater Conservation Director if you have any questions about filing comments or plan to attend any of these meetings.
