Lehigh River Flow Meeting Announced

Corps to hold Francis E. Walter Dam Flow Management Information Workshop and announce the 2006 plan PHILADELPHIA (Jan. 23, 2006) --- The Corps of Engineers and its p artners the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and Delaware River Basin Commission, in their ongoing efforts to enhance recreation along the Lehigh River, will conduct a public information workshop to announce the 2006 Francis E. Walter Dam Flow Management Plan and discuss its implementation.

The public is invited to the workshop that will take place on Feb. 16, in the Galleria, at the Split Rock Lodge, One Lake Drive, Lake Harmony, Pa. from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm and will be facilitated by the Wildlands Conservancy. Workshop Schedule 6:30 Networking session for the public and agency personnel 7:00 Presentation by the Corps and its partners addressing the execution of the 2005 Flow Management Plan and providing details of the 2006 plan 8:00 The Corps and its partners will form small breakout groups to discuss the new plan and address other recreational concerns individually. 9:00 Workshop ends At the heart of the current and future flow management plans is the public and how its needs will influence future decisions. As of today, the Corps has received about 375 comments that were considered in developing this year?s flow management plan.
