2010 Trinity River Clean-Up (CA)

Posted: 08/17/2010
By: Carla Miner

Join us for the annual clean up of the Trinity River and State Highway 299 hosted by the Shasta-Trinity National Forest and the Watershed Research and Training Center. The Forest Service and other sponsors, along with our partnering outfitter-guides, will be joining to make your day a fun and rewarding one.

The clean up will include activities such as floating the river in rafts, canoes and kayaks as well as walking along the highway, beaches, and river bars to pick up trash and debris. Walking on rocky, uneven surfaces and some lifting of heavy objects may be involved. However, you can select a level of activity to suit your individual needs or preferences.

In appreciation of your volunteer efforts a free barbecue and raffle will be provided at Skunk Point Campground near the community of Big Flat on Highway 299. Plan to be at the Skunk Point Campground by 3:00 pm.

When:      Saturday, September 11, 2010 (rain or shine)
Where:     Big Bar Ranger Station, State Hwy 299, 25 miles west of Weaverville

For further information and pre-registration forms please contact Nick Walker or Paul Gamache 530-623-1876 or Big Bar Ranger Station 530-623-6106.
