Rubicon (CA) Flow Study - Your Input is Needed!

The Placer County Water Agency (PCWA) is in the process of relicensing the Middle Fork American River Project, and information is being collected to identify the range of flows suitable for whitewater boating on the Rubicon River between Hell Hole Dam and Ralston Afterbay.

In 2011, there have been a number of boating opportunities on the Rubicon River and numerous boaters have run this section over a wide range of flows. If you've run the Rubicon between Hell Hole Dam and Ralston Afterbay this year, your help is needed to identify the range of flows suitable for whitewater boating on this section of river. You can do this by completing an online survey, which will ask for information about your trip (date, time, number of days, etc) and for your evaluation of the flow(s) you boated on. Your input will help determine the boatable flow range for this section of the Rubicon River.

You can access the online survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LY5JQGD

Please complete a separate survey for each boating trip you have made on the Rubicon River this season.

American Whitewater has been working diligently with other stakeholders on flow studies on the Rubicon for many years. We thank them all for their efforts, including Hilde Schweitzer. AW will announce the results of the study as soon as it is complete - stay tuned!
