This year's Upper Yough Race is scheduled for July 28th. Weather and water permitting there will be an extra-long release that day. Registration will be from 9-12 Noon  at the Wilderness Voyageurs store in town on the day of the race. Cost is $30.  the Dam release runs from 10am - 4pm, and the race start time has changed from 5pm to 4pm PM at Gap Falls. This is the same weekend as Friendsville Days! Stay around for great music and food at the town park. Stay tuned to the AW Mid-States Page for Further Developments.

UPDATE from Jess Whittemore, Friendsville Town Council: The Town is having it's "Friendsville Day's" festivities on the same day as the Upper Yough Race. In fact a parade float line up is taking the whole North side of the road where Boaters Park, parade set to run at Noon. The Town is going to have an early one day only opening of the new parking area, on the grassy field to the South side of the normal boater parking area. Please enter Town on the West side since down town will be closed to traffic around 11:45pm, you will be directed to enter the new parking area right next to the Liquor store. Please DO NOT drive down Water street to access the parking. We even want you to Take Out under the Big Rout 68 Bridge and walk over to the parking area behind the Methodist Church. This is a one time use only to solve the problem of two big activities going on at the same time. The Town is working diligently to get the new parking area open permanently, please be patient. Also, the Friendsville Days festivities at the Town Park includes FOOD and entertainment, one of my favorites is a great little Thai food vendor who comes here every year along with the wholesome local offerings, Thank you and please have a great race day
