Unique Opportunity to Support Our Colorado Program!

This year, American Whitewater has teamed up with the Community First Foundation to help raise support for our Colorado River Program through ColoradoGives Day. Your participation in this great opportunity will help us reach our goal of at least 30 donations to our River Access and Conservation work across Colorado, and FirstBank of Colorado will increase the size of your donations!

On Tuesday Deceber 10th, ColoradoGives Day will take place, and for 24-hours you can donate to American Whitewater's Colorado Program through ColoradoGives.org. By selecting “Donate Now” from the AW profile, you can make any size donation - even as small as $10. You can even schedule a donation in advance - simply begin the donation process and after you enter a donation amount, check the box that says “Schedule a donation for Colorado Gives Day 12/10/2013".

When you use ColoradoGives.org, your donation will be boosted by the FirstBank Incentive Fund. FirstBank has provided $250,000 for an Incentive Fund that will leverage donations made through ColoradoGives.org on December 10. The FirstBank Incentive Fund will be proportionally allocated across all donations received, increasing the value of each donation.

For example, if American Whitewater raises ($10,000*) divided by the Total Amount Raised on ColoradoGives Day ($10,000,000*) x Total Amount in Incentive Fund ($250,000) = ($250*) AW’s share of Incentive Fund!  Every bit counts towards River Access and Conservation in Colorado!

But wait - there's more!

FirstBank is sponsoring two types of prizes to help rally donors for Colorado Gives Day: Trivia Prizes and Luck-of-the-Draw Prizes. FirstBank is offering ten Trivia Prizes worth $1,000 each when an individual correctly answers Colorado Gives Day trivia questions on FirstBank's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/efirstbank. Each trivia winner will choose a nonprofit profiled on ColoradoGives.org to receive the prize. Two trivia questions will be asked per day, at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., for five days from Monday - Friday, December 2 - 6. Winners will be selected and contacted by FirstBank representatives and asked to choose a nonprofit to receive the $1,000 prize. Obviously, we hope you choose AW!

FirstBank will also be sponsoring a drawing for nonprofits to win eighteen $5,000 Luck-of-the-Draw Prizes. To qualify for the drawing, a nonprofit must receive a minimum of 30 donations through Colorado Gives Day. Winners will be announced in January when donations for Colorado Gives Day have been reconciled.

All donations made to American Whitewater through ColoradoGives.org are tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law. After making a donation, you will automatically receive an on-screen acknowledgment letter. A copy of that letter will also be e-mailed to you. If you create a ColoradoGives account, these letters will be saved in your donation history.

Although ColoradoGives.org features nonprofits working in Colorado, residents from any location can donate online. You can donate with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express) or the information from a bank account (personal checking, business checking, or savings).

ColoradoGives Day was first created in 2010 by Community First Foundation, a community foundation serving metro Denver, with the financial support of Colorado-based FirstBank. 2013 is the first year that American Whitewater is participating in the Program, and we hope you will help make it a big success.
