American Whitewater Turns 60: Help Us Celebrate

Throughout 2014 American Whitewater will be celebrating its 60th year of existence in the AW Journal. In each issue we will reprint old stories from previous issues, highlight some critical period in the organization's past, and generally stand back and try to appreciate everything that AW has offered whitewater paddlers over the past six decades. Of course, AW means a little something different to each person who has been involved in the organization over the years. While we will be telling our own story, we know that it's equally important to tell our members' stories as well as those of our past stakeholders of all kinds.

If you or someone you know has a story to share that would help others understand a period of AW's history, please contact us. While we do not expect to tell every story from every year of the organization's past from every perspective, we would like to offer a representative sampling.
