The Tuolumne River Trust's annual paddle-a-thon to
protect the Tuolumne River and raise funds and awareness for river stewardship, the Paddle to the
Sea, is now a new "bigger and better" event series called By Land & By River. This
"adventure-a-thon" fundraising event series offers exciting opportunities to
explore nature, protect the Tuolumne River, and raise awareness for river stewardship. After
seven successful years of the Paddle to the Sea event, this year there’s even more ways to explore the Tuolumne watershed
including an upcoming event, whitewater
rafting the world-class rapids of the American River on Saturday and Sunday July 16th
and 17th.
By Land & By River celebrates the immense
recreation and economic benefits of rivers and their watersheds. By participating you’re
not only raising funds to support the Tuolumne River
Trust's work; you’re also helping to raise public awareness for the issues
affecting the health of the river and to garner support for the challenges that lie ahead. Events
started in May and will continue through August.
Sat. - Sun, July 16-17: Whitewater rafting on the American River (Class III) (Lotus,
Calif.)
