Earlier this month we announced that American Whitewater is close to releasing the new design for our National Whitewater Inventory (NWI). We'll be going live with the final new design of the NWI in January, but we are stoked to share the draft beta version of the site now, so our members can get a taste of the look and feel for the new site.

We hope you enjoy taking a peak at the site, and enjoy the new river pages, but please note that edits to river pages, donations, and other edit functions are not enabled on the beta site. So just explore the beta site for fun, but for all transactions and edits continue to use the current AW site. Beta sites are construction zones that are not the same as normal websites so you might find some broken functions: don't worry, we are working on it.

The river pages are more aesthetic, mobile-friendly, and have a more logical flow of information. They will integrate really well with our apps. If you are logged in you'll see that it will be far easier for you to contribute river descriptions, alerts, and photos than ever before. The goal of these changes is to increase river safety by increasing the quality, accessibility, and timeliness of information on our site. The emphasis of the project was on the river pages though some changes carried across our site, so the look and feel of the whole AW site will be more modern.

When we flip the switch and the final new site design goes live in January, we hope you will help us make the National Whitewater Inventory even better by adding more photos and river descriptions. We'll let you know when it is time to start contributing!
