UPDATE: CALIFORNIA SCHEDULED RECREATIONAL RELEASES

In California during the midst of COVID 19, American Whitewater has made a commitment to work with local counties, state & federal land management agencies and hydropower utilities to get paddlers the most up to date status of scheduled recreational flows for 2020. Here is the status of scheduled releases for NF Feather Rock Creek, Pit 5 and SF Feather Little Grass Valley. The most up to date information can also be found on our calendar here:

Due to the current stage of COVID 19 in Plumas County, scheduled recreational flows for NF Feather Rock Creek for August 22 & 23 have been CANCELLED.  American Whitewater and Pacific Gas & Electric will remain in contact with Plumas County regarding the remaining September dates.

Pacific Gas & Electric has confirmed makeup dates for the Pit 5 scheduled releases for the weekend of October 17th & 18th  at 1500 cfs.  These flows will run concurrent with the Pit 1 releases scheduled that same weekend. A reminder, as of today that the September 12th & 13th recreational flows are still on the Pit 5 Calendar.

The operations foreman for South Feather Water and Power Agency has confirmed that there will be recreational releases on South Fork Feather Little Grass Valley.  They are scheduled for Sept 15 thru Oct 4. The ramp up is slated as follows:

Sept 14 - ramp up to 250 CFS

Sept 15 - increase to 400 CFS

Sept 16 thru Oct 4 - 400 CFS

Oct 5 - ramp down to 250 CFS

Oct 6 - decrease to 100 CFS

Stayed tuned for release updates as American Whitewater gets them and be sure to check out our guidelines on if how, when and where paddling is a good idea right now.
