2008 American River Festival (CA)

Calling all Paddlers and River Friends!

 

 

            Seize the Day-- Come down, volunteer, participate, support, spectate and HAVE FUN!!

 

 

This is the year’s MUST ATTEND rendezvous event for paddlers, river community folks and any who appreciate and support the Rivers of Life and the massive efforts of the organizations listed above.  It’s your chance to come together and help make a difference Right Here in our front yard!!

 

We ask you to join your friends and fellow paddlers from around the region for the 27th Annual American River Festival September 5-7, 2008. We NEED your support and attendance to make it work, so plan to attend one or more of the events and have some great fun in the process. (<: Come watch the fun, but better yet, come be a PART OF IT! Get your partner(s) together for the Topo Duo races (categories include Parent/Child, Coed adult, Women’s and Open ) winners in each category get a $25.00 gift certificate for the River Store. Practice your moves for the First Threat Citizen’s Rodeo, get Psyched for the Dagger 8 Ball, come on down and eat, dance and knock the froth off of a couple good beers at the Saturday Dinner/Dance event.

 

 

WHAT-----------

 

·        Free Friday night Dinner

 

·        Saturday competitions for rafters, kayakers, kids, rodeo (First Threat)

 

·        Free events and activities all day Saturday and Sunday at Henningsen Lotus Park

 

·        Saturday night Dinner with Live Music & Dancing ($20.00 advance, $25.00 at the door) auctions and awards

 

·        Sunday events at HLP and Slalom at the Nugget, awards at HLP

 

 

 

Tickets for Saturday’s event include 1 meal and first drink (including beer), live music performed by The Schwamigos and Via Satellite as well as silent and live auctions and awards ceremony. We will have a variety of exciting events based out of Henningsen Lotus Park and other river venues: The NEW RIVER STORE SHUTTLE will be providing free shuttle rides to different event venues

 

ON WATER: There will be Dagger 8 Ball and Topo Duo kayak races from the 49 bridge to HLP that anyone can enter; Guide crew raft races, kids paddling fun fests, stand up surf board demos, The rodeo will be at First Threat rapid on Saturday, and slalom races will be at the Nugget on Sunday.

 

ON LAND:  Games for all ages (tug-o-war, three legged skirt races and throw rope toss ), food and exhibitor booths.

 

            HOW ------------

 

All registrations for events and Saturday evening’s event ticket sales will be at the River Store up through Friday September 5th, or at HLP starting early Saturday morning September 6th. Pre-event registrations can be made on-line at the ARF website: www.AmericanRiverFestival.org the week before the event

 

Save $5.00 off the $25.00 ticket price for the ARF Saturday night party at EarthTrek if you purchase it before Aug 29th! 

 

            WHY!?------------

 

Help celebrate the beginning of a new era for the ARF and make it the premiere River Festival in the WEST! While you help raise money and spirit for river conservation, local access and the future of our Rivers and Earth. The ARF’s  Coloma Angel Fund donation will start a fund to help our friends in need.

 

Paddlers are participants by nature, not bystanders, so Step Up, Express yourself and CHOOSE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
