Abstract
American Whitewater submits these comments in strong opposition to the Environmental Protection Agency publication of the proposed rule “Updating Regulations on Water Quality Certification.” These proposed rules would fundamentally weaken the ability of states to assure that federally permitted energy projects meet state water quality standards under Section §401 of the Clean Water Act. This action will result in an increase in harm to our rivers and impact water-based outdoor recreation.Description
