Document - Lower Crooked Chimeny Rock Management Plan

Abstract

In October 1988, the 8 mile segment of the Lower Crooked River between Bowman Dam and State Scenic Highway 27 mile marker 12 (Chimney Rock Segment) was designated by Congress as a National Wild and Scenic River and classified as a recreational river area. The Congressional Record indicates that the scenic and recreational values within the river corridor boundaries qualify as outstandingly remarkable. A resource assessment conducted early in the planning process confirmed these findings and added the fish resource to the list of outstandingly remarkable values.
