This creek boasts a few fine spots. A rock-dam 'falls', and a sweet spin wave provide playboating possibilities. While some have attempted longer runs (putting in further up), generally they have found a lot of portages due to deadfall and snags. (The upstream portions of this stream go through a lot of wooded area.)

The Fish Ladder is actually a little dangerous to run. Being that about 50 or so cement post like tubes, about 6-7 inches tall, 4-5 inches around and rounded on top are all placed in that area which creates the rapid at high water. At the min (150cfs) it is probably unrunable. Even at 250 - 300 cfs you still bump on them.

This is a great class 1-2 creek. Min is 150cfs. Excellent creek for this urban area.

Doug inspecting the bottom of the creek. Stu wondering what he is doing.

Be careful running this. There are many man made cement like tubes in the channel. Apparently to help the trout get upstream.

fun local creek when it is up. fun level is 3 ft on guage at put-in located on ludlow st upstream right side. 3 ft is @ 200-250cfs. put-in is upstream of city of rochester park at apartments back lot. rapids consist of [1]falls in park, {may require ducking thru walk bridges.}, [2] rochester road rapid, [3] beer hole,{site of rochester mills brewery} riverwide sidesurf wave, formed by former mill diversion. note: at higher flow 300 and higher, this is a keeper hole due to being under a bridge alot of hyraulics and entire creek is a boucey 2 mile ride lacking eddys. take outs are on clinton river after voodoo wave, 2nd street rail trail parking lot or yates cider mill. be on the lookout for wood. there is also a nice bike railtrail which follows the creek for scouting.
