River Description
This river is a tributary of the Chippewa River, in Chippewa County (near the Holcombe and Cornell Flowages).
Likely to be a fun little bobble, with random areas of rocky shoals for entertainment. A few may actually prove rather lengthy!
River Features
Put In
Put-in: Drainage area: ~73 sq.mi.
Drainage area at our listed put-in is about 73 square miles (according to USGS StreamStats Beta software). By our take-out the area has increased to about 89.6 square miles (about a 23% increase).
Possible increased obstruction/gradient
After a few areas of riffles and shoals, it appears the river may be squeezed a bit and/or encounter some increased rockiness, rapids, or gradient for perhaps 0.2 mile.
Perhaps second good rapids
After rounding a bend (from SouthWest to West to North) the river again appears to encounter another rocky stretch. It appears this will continue (on and off, anyway) the nearly the next 3/4th of a mile.
Hwy.27
The aforementioned gradient peters out for a bit from here.
Bit of a squeeze and rips?
After somewhat of a lull (not saying there's nothing, just not much obvious from aerial/satellite view), it appears there is some increased action starting here.
Buck Creek
Buck Creek enters from river-left. As it does, there's one more bit of gradient before things pool out for a brief bit. One final bit of shoals leads under Fisher Drive (240th Ave) to your take-out.
