Take the gauge correlation with a big grain of salt. If the Rapp at Remington is dropping fast then the Hughes may well have run out. It was very low on 4/16/07 with the gauge at 8.5 feet. Also, put in well downstream of route 231 where Popham Run increases the volume. Bring a dump truck for the garbage!

The Remington gauge is located about 20 miles downstream shortly after the Hazel joins the Rappahannock. Remington at 6.5 feet is a great level for this stretch.
Also refer to the AFWS Nethers rain gauge and the Rapidan streamflow gauge.
Permits are not required for this reach.
