This is a fun intermediate run. The scenery is spectacular and the water moves along pretty quick. The water is usually best from late May to mid June, but I've run it as late as mid July and still had enough water. The section above the falls is impressive and the hotsprings make for a nice way to warm up.

Save The Date: Wild West River Fest (WY)

Cody, Wyoming - This August 19 & 20 the Wild West Paddle Club is hosting the 2017 Wild West River Fest in Cody, Wyoming. In celebration of the beautiful Shoshone River, the Fest has events for everyone - Slalom Race, Class II Sprint, Shoshone Canyon Boater Cross, and many other fun activities for the whole family! Weekend festivities are free to the public, with the exception of race registration fees for competitors. You can find a full schedule here and all competitors need to register online in advance.

Forest Service Seeks Input On Snake River Headwaters (WY)

The Bridger-Teton National Forest continues to seek public input for the next stage in creating its comprehensive management plan for the Wild and Scenic Snake River Headwaters. Paddlers are encouraged to review the background information and offer the Forest Service your feedback by taking a survey posted in this article.  Feedback is appreciated by April 11, 2011.
