River Description
Note: This is one of at least 4 'Yellow River's in Wisconsin. Two others have USGS gauges. (This one does not.) Mostly this run consists of rather light, low-grade (I-II) boulder-garden rapids, interspersed with flat/flowing water, making this a fine novice whitewater trip.
River Features
Drainage: ~183 sq.mi.
Drainage area at our listed put-in is approximately 183 sq.mi. (as calculated via USGS StreamStats Beta software).
Footbridge / Alt.Put-in
While the listed put-in is at CTH.B bridge, many folks will likely drive into the adjacent park, where parking and access (and possibly other 'facilities'?) may be more convenient. As you drive into this park, you may wish to check a couple shoals/rapids in a bend in the river. If they look enticing, you may wish to carry out the driveway to put in above them. Otherwise, just carry the most direct route to the river, between the baseball field and a basketball court to put in at/under the footbridge.
Powerlines
Mostly as a 'waypoint' (progress marker). The light bouldergarden rapids are pretty much scattered and continue throughout this reach, so we will not so much provide listing/detail of them, but rather waypoints/progress-markers.
