For those looking for a fly-in float trip with relatively simple logistics close to Anchorage, this is a good option. Commercial trips are even run on this stretch. The trip starts with a flight into the Chugach Mountains before you touch down on Carmen Lake. From the lake outlet you start out on the Glacier River before joining the Twentymile River.
