River Description

Check out their description of this reach.

Lower Mishawaka is an easy stretch of III sandwiched between harder sections on the river, it's a good upgrade for beginners who want to progress beyond the Filter Plant run. The lines are easy and there are no man-made obstacles to maneuver around. However, beginners should have a guide as there are a couple of large holes to avoid.

To get there: The put in is at the Mishiwaka Inn (mile marker 108.2), or (much better) put in at one of the pull-outs shortly below the Mish.  Take out at just above the bridge at Hewlett Gulch (mile marker 110.7).

For descriptions of Colorado runs, see Whitewater of the Southern Rockies by Stafford and McCutchen, or Colorado Rivers and Creeks by Banks and Eckert.

The most reliable flow information, and a calculator for converting cfs to/from the Pineview gauge, is available from the Poudre Rock Report at http://www.poudrerockreport.com
