Take-out:Turn West on Hwy 123 from Hwy 7 at Pelsor. Follow all the way down to the Ft. Douglas Bridge over the Big Piney Creek, this will at 2 miles to the run. Park here or turn right (North) on the East side of the bridge (river left) and go upstream 1.8 miles upto the confluence of Hurricane and Big Piney Creeks.
Hazards: Log jams, blind drops, big holes to avoid at higher levels.
Beautiful remote run through the Hurricane Creek Wilderness Area. The Ozark Highlands Trail parallels the creek for most of the way.

The USGS Big Piney Creek gauge is an indicator as well, but the gauge is located well downstream. Look for 4.5 to 5.0 feet as a minimum.
