Directions to putin and takeout
To reach the putin from Wears Valley, travel a few miles northeast on US 321 until the quiet
pastoral brook is encountered on the right. Find a place to putin that looks public.
To the takeout, simply drive 1-2 miles down the road until you cross the stream, putting it on the
left side of the road. There are a couple of pull-offs on the left for a good takeout.

moderate pace. Several hundred yards down there is a dam which is possibly a portage, or can be
run. Check it out on shuttle to decide what you think. Below here is a 6-8 foot ledge with a
scrapey approach and a shallow landing. It can also be scouted before the run by pulling off at the
touristy spot right before the road crosses the creek (when heading NE on 321). This is the last
After passing under the 321 bridge, take out somewhere that looks decent, and carry up the 20 foot
enbankment to your car.
