|Usual Difficulty||II+ (for normal flows)|
|Avg. Gradient||35 fpm|
|Max Gradient||35 fpm|
Mike Coogan provides:
There are essentially no pools, lots of rocks, and nice scenery. You are never more than 100' from civilization, but you don't really know it except when you get near the roads close to the take-out.
The city has fenced off the take-out at the pump station on Catherine Heights Road. You can carry your boat around the fence without any trouble or you can take out on the east bank at Barbara's 270 Club after asking Barbara if it is OK.
The water level is gaged by the footing of the first interior support from the east end of the put-in bridge. Even with or slightly below the top of the footing is about the minimum runnable flow.
Check the Entergy info page for recent rainfall and stream levels. Look for East Gulpha to be 300+ cfs.
