Trip Reports
Log in to add a reportMay 15 , 2025 Back again . Put on at rte. #50 to rte. #39 in Crellin . Lots of easy paddling . Only had to portage four times as the down trees were under water . Very few class 1 rapids at this level . Only a single class 2 just before the take out , easy to scout . Scouted the Libery Rd take-out in Oakland prior to our trip . The 2 / 2+ rapids there didnt seem like a good idea to my buddy Dave in a ducklie and me in a rec boat . Taking out on #39 in Crellin worked well for us at the higher level . Plus a nice new parking lot recently added when the bridge was rebuilt .
Paddled the entire run down to Millers Run take out from Route # 50. Plenty of water at 300 cfs, class 1 to 1+, perhaps a few class 2 at higher levels. Recomend putting in at Sunny Side Rd to avoid the dozen or so log jams and beaver dams that required a portage. Very pretty from open meadows to heavily wooded hemlock and rhododendron sections. The take out at Millers Run is about a 4 foot wide stream just past a large house on river right. Had no issues paddling this in a rec boat.
