Bob Benner covers this stream from 601 to Jenkinstown. Locals tell me there is a lone class III downstream form Jenkinstown. The best time to run the Fisher is in the middle of the winter or early spring before planting season when the levels are runnable but when the water is clear. There are many bluffs, beautiful white pines, and rhododendron. Summer brings the smell of chicken and cow manure and red mud runnoff. For the more adventure minded boater, there is a nice stretch of whitewater in the upper reaches starting a the junction of Ramey Ck. to Ladonia Rd. which runs after a couple inches of rain. There is one III drop just above Crossroads Ch Rd. and later a really freaky class II that makes one feel like they are paddling in a cave.
