Paddled this stretch yesterday for the first time (June 2, 2025/400cfs). This run is solid class 3 boogie with half a dozen logs (easy to miss if you are on it} and sporadic class 4 moves, especially after Cross creek when the volume picks up. Put-in at Gilman Take-out. Take-out at the Forest Service.

The bridge crossing Minturn Rd just down river from Little Beach park is in hazardous condition and should not be paddled under.

Paddled 3 mi of this stretch in a packraft. Very enjoyable class I-II floating through town. Everything felt runnable and only encountered one sweeper, easily portaged. Would recommend this river at this flow to any packrafters looking to practice their river reading in a semi-controlled setting!
