A tricky seal launch drops paddlers into a tight slot canyon with only moderate rapids and small drops. The river dramatically exits the gorge revealing big-mountain scenery for the rest of the cobblebed run out to the North Saskatchewan. This short run is remarkably scenic, both within the walls of the gorge and once out in the open.
Take out on the North Saskatchewan where it crosses Highway 93.
Hike to the bridge and then downstream on river right around 250 meters to a small slippery seep. Find a seal launch spot just downstream. The one we used required an awkward start on a small ledge parallel to the river, dropping perhaps 4 meters.
