On 5/26/11, Jay and I paddled from above the falls in Colden, about 2 miles down to the Buffalo Ski Club bridge. The falls looked runnable but low at 750 and dropping, and the rest of the run would have been too low. After some more rain, the river shot up, and we put on at about 1100 and rising. The falls was fun (even though I rolled once halfway down and again at the bottom), and Jay had a clean run. After that, it was 2 miles of swifts, some small surf waves, some wood, and 1 lowhead dam. At this level it was an easy boof; at higher levels it might be a decent sized hole, and at very high levels, might even be a nice surf wave. There is an eddy on the right above the dam. Since we put on at 8 pm, we didn't have enough time to make it down to West Falls. From our run, there wasn't anything rated V, but maybe there are other drops between Glenwood and Lackawanna that are difficult. I would give Colden Falls a IV rating and the rest of the run II. - Max
