Raquette

This graph of the gradient vs. river mile was obtained from the USGS topo maps of the two streams. Note that, while the Moose has some huge drops (where two or more contour lines coincide), the Raquette does indeed drop at 200 feet in its first mile. The drops on the Raquette are pret-ty big, too. With all that gradient, most people regard the Raquette as a step up from the Moose.
