Trip Report

ReporterJoseph D. Hatcher

I did this creek on 3/31/2010 and the level was 4.1.

First note is that on maps Victoria is also referred as Fortney Mills by the locals.

I personally think this creek should be broken into two sections. The first section has two potential put-ins, either Three Fork Bridge or for a longer trip put -in where the road crosses Three Fork Creek almost to Rt 92 down to Victoria. This is class I-II. From Three Fork Bridge to Victoria took me about 1 hour at this level with steady, continuous paddling.

The next section should be from Victoria to the Bridge at CR7 which is west of the town of Independence. This is roughly class III-IV and is fairly continuous. I thought the level I paddled, 4.1 was the lowest I would do it. I will go back to this section again when there is more water. The section from Victoria to CR7 took about 1 hour also.
